PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

3BL Media, LLC (July 2014 – July 2024) - Senior Developer & VP of Engineering

  • Led much of the development of multiple Drupal websites, including 3blmedia.com, Justmeans.com, Ethicalperformance.com, and the Drupal/React versions of triplepundit.com and csrwire.com
  • Led the conversion of acquired websites TriplePundit.com and CSRWire.com to Headless Drupal with a React front end
  • Wrote and maintained custom Drupal modules that covered all aspects of the websites, including publishing and distribution of content, analytics reporting, newsletter and client emails, and basic Drupal layouts and theming.
  • Oversaw the move to the Acquia platform as well as the Drupal 7 to Drupal 9 upgrade for multiple Drupal sites
  • Integrated many third-party applications and APIs including Google, Sendgrid, Salesforce, AWS, Sigma, Snowflake and Timescale (analytics) and more.
  • Managed the tech team, doing code reviews, Drupal training, release deployment, core and module updates and testing, and collaborated with contractors and consultants when needed.

 

Freelance & Contract, NY, NY (Jan 2009 - Present)

Worked as a freelance web developer and programmer using Drupal for websites and various technologies to complement it.

  • Worked as lead Drupal developer and maintainer for Intrax, Inc. and its collection of websites, including aupaircare.com, ayusa.org, globalinternships.org, and others.
  • Responsible for Drupal development of websites for Hugemedia.com, including WCIRB.com, Healnation.com, Kickthecan.info, Calprepare.com, the San Francisco Art Institute, and others.
  • Developed multiple internal and external websites for NYU Langone Medical center, working with existing modules as well as developing multiple custom modules.
  • Created an interactive hospital map for NYU using Drupal 6 and jQuery, that allowed for browsing of common hospital dangers and hazardous agents.
  • Debugged and revised existing code in both Drupal 5 and 6 at NYU and converted existing code and themes from one version to the other.● Contributed to Webthingee, a small Drupal development firm, and a site it is developing called Chattersource.com, working on all aspects, back and front end, of a site for students to share information in the area of their universities.
  • Wrote custom modules and code for TheEnergyLibrary.com, as well as adapting existing modules, developing search functionality, and theming the entire site.
  • Did project management for, developed, and programmed 40 page “e-book” using Flash for a client looking to market to children and sell to parents. Included multiple audio tracks, navigation, and various other interactive components, as well as a YouTube and email presence.
  • Contracted as lead developer of UrbanInterns.com – including code managerment, design and creation of new features.
  • In addition, created and managed configuration of developed websites, and did extensive Javascript work and design/layout for them as well.

 

Programmer, Advance Internet, Jersey City, NJ (April 2001 - Dec 2008)

Worked as part of a small programming team along with a group of technical coordinators to develop affiliate-branded applications across a network of similar websites that partnered with local newspapers. Worked with a company created C language templating engine before moving toward Java based programs and applications, and eventually to a mostly Java/Python/Django combination.

  • Wrote C CGIs, scripts and libraries for newspaper-branded affiliate websites around the country.
  • Developed Java applications both front end related, using JSP, servlet containers, and various frameworks, and back end scripts for data processing.
  • Worked independently and as part of a team on Python/Django web applications.
  • Wrote a Java contests/polls application to let affiliate sites create and publish custom branching contests and generate and view data files from user input.
  • Created Flex and Flash advertising applications.
  • Wrote Perl scripts.

 

Programmer, Boyle Software, NY, NY (September 1997 - January 2001)

Worked as part of a large programming consultant team to create a web-based version of the Columbia House music and movie clubs. Was responsible for certain sections of the site as well as similar sections on its sister site, TotalE.com. Was part of an early attempt at creating a downloadable music site using Liquid Audio and Real Audio.

  • Developed CGIs using C for the Columbia House music club and TotalE.com websites.
  • Wrote Java front and back end applications.
